Favre Couldn’t Keep His Wrangler in His Jeans
By Jason G. on October 14, 2010.
Last week when Vikings quarterback Brett Favre met with his teammates prior to Minnesota’s game on Monday Night Football, reports say he apologized for causing a distraction, “with tears in his eyes.”
The distraction, of course, is Favre’s johnson allegedly showing up all over the Internet.
Most have heard the story by now of how Favre couldn’t keep it in his Wrangler jeans during his time in New York thanks to the sexy Jenn Sterger, at the time a Jets game hostess.
Ms. Sterger knows all about using the Internet to build one’s reputation, having parlayed a short Youtube clip of basically, her breasts attending a Florida State game, into a long term career.
Sadly, Favre has learned over the last few weeks that the Internet can tarnish one’s reputation just as easily.
Which brings us to that Monday night speech.
Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell told ESPN that Favre became emotional and said, “I need you guys to carry me tonight. I’m going to give it my all, but I’m just not sure what’s going to happen.”
The sad sack speech would normally be enough to make the average fan feel sorry for the guy. Problem is, we’ve seen this waterworks show numerous times before.
Here is Favre’s original poor me performance after retiring from the Green Bay Packers in 2008.
If his career had ended there, we would be counting down the years until Canton, his legacy intact as the greatest Green Bay Packer of all time.
Instead, we got to watch him get all emotional at the end of each of the last two seasons, his legacy steadily moving from legend to laughingstock.
Every other time that Favre has dissolved into a mess, we always thought it was because he just loved the game that much.
Now, we know it’s because he’s an over-the-hill attention whore who can’t stand the thought that no one will be hanging on his every move.
How else can one explain what he did to Sterger, assuming the rumors are true? I mean, there’s no way the lovely lady could say no to him, right? He’s Brett Favre, everybody wants a piece of him. At this point, one wonders if Favre started crying because of the shame he’s brought himself or is it because he’s just upset he never got to cop a feel on Sterger?
And so, this is what remains.
Say the name Brett Favre three years ago, and most would say he is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. In 2010, all we can think about is Jenn Sterger’s boobs. I guess that’s not entirely bad.
