Sexual Censorship

Alabama Bans Wine with a Sensual Label.

In a startling move of artistic and sensual censorship the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board has banned a wine label they felt to pornographic for even the cultural elite of Alabama.

California’s Cycles Gladiator wine features artwork based on an 1895 French bicycle ad and is a clear violation of Alabama law banning displaying “a person posed in an immoral or sensuous manner.”
Oops, sorry, can you cover that up. I’m offended.

Clearly to the thousands of Alabama residents who were expecting “Cycles Gladiator” wine to have a more locally appealing image of authentic, gay male gladiators, the nude drawing of the pudgy French woman on the bike, was disturbing.

Board attorney Bob Martin ordered all Alabama state stores to stop serving the wine. What does this mean for the “Coors Lite… and Twins” fantasy commercials? Luckily, those were more in line with the sensibilities of Alabama residents, either because they advertise beer, or because the “twins” reference spoke to those legislators who like to “keep it in the family.”

I sure am glad I live in California, where I can have a glass of “Titts and Ass” Pinot Noir anytime I want.
My…. Favorite…. Wine.
